Here we are, the Academic and the Project Manager/Historian…hard at work!

fred-at-wordI’m Fred David, (the Academic), and it’s a pleasure to introduce Vern Bender, without whom this book would not be possible.

These photos were taken at the Ocean Isle Museum, which is a wonderful place to think, plan, and write… all the while surrounded by the artifacts and exhibits that help bring our rich history to life.

As you may know, I have a very long publishing history in the academic realm. I’ve been fortunate to have published books , articles, and essays in the field of strategy that have received international acclaim.

vern-at-workVern’s background is in business, marketing, and consulting.

We share a love of boating, fishing, and a deep fascination with the mysteries and histories of this area.

Vern is the historical info and artifacts “hunter-gatherer”. He has tracked down printed information and photos, done interviews, listened to narratives and local yarns and tall tales, and collected and collated them.

He is still collecting…so if you have some bit of history that should be in the book, contact Vern!

It is still a work in progress, and we would love to give credit and attribution to contributors. So, if you would like to be part of the history of this book, contact Vern here.

Here is one of our favorite research methods…
